Defence for Children Italy becomes an official member of PICUM
27 July 2025

We are proud to announce that Defence for Children Italy has officially become a member of PICUM - the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants - , a leading European network of over 150 organisations committed to protecting the rights of undocumented migrants and advocating for inclusive policies across Europe.

Founded in 2001 and based in Brussels, PICUM works to ensure that the voices of undocumented people are heard in key policy discussions at the European level. Through research, monitoring, training, and advocacy, PICUM promotes access to justice, healthcare, education, and decent working conditions for all, regardless of legal status.

Joining PICUM is an important recognition of our work: Defence for Children Italy has been selected as a member representing Italy due to its ongoing commitment to defending the rights of migrant children and youth, and its efforts to promote inclusive systems of reception, protection, and child-friendly justice.

Becoming part of this network allows us to strengthen our advocacy at the European level, exchange good practices with like-minded organisations, and contribute more effectively to building a society where human rights are upheld for everyone, with no one left behind.
