Summary

SUPPORTS is a partnership between three EU countries to create comprehensive care for children leaving resident-type institutions. 

Duration of the Project

January 2019 - March 2021

 
Objectives

Create skills in teams of professionals working in the protection system and the CRC for a holistic approach to the child as a preliminary step towards the development and implementation of sustainable follow-up plans;

Enhance the competencies and skills of professionals working in residential care settings through a CRC-based methodology;

Create a tool for a child-based and dynamic multidisciplinary approach;

Promote the participation of children hosted in residential care facilities regarding decisions about their actual and future conditions;

Promote the exchange of good practices in each country and among European partners.

  • International training and exchange of good practice seminars;
  • Production of information material for children leaving care;
  • Workshops with children leaving care;
  • Constitution and development of the Advisory Group of Children and Young People;
  • National training needs assessment;
  • Transnational training needs assessment;
  • Adaptation of the existing training manuals and materials;
  • Training course for professionals working in residential care facilities;
  • Production and dissemination of children’s messages during the project.
